When I first started P90X almost a year ago now, I had absolutely no intention of becoming a Beachbody coach. In fact, I didn’t even know the coaching opportunity existed for nearly my entire first round of P90X. The coach I got assigned to never contacted me so I was on my own. Naturally I started to have some questions about nutrition and how to maximize my results etc. which is when I found a Beachbody coach who had been through the program, had gotten great results, and had a wealth of information to share with me.
Even then, it never occurred to me to become a coach myself. But then two things happened that changed all that. First, I got great results myself with P90X which made me become really passionate about fitness and nutrition. Second, because of the results I got, many people started asking me what I was doing to lose so much weight and get in such great shape. Of course I’d tell them I was doing P90X and because of my enthusiasm for the program, a number of people decided to try it themselves. Naturally they would come to me with questions about the workout and what to eat etc. and I would help them out with what I had learned from my own experience. I think you can see where I’m going with this…I was basically a Beachbody coach without officially being a Beachbody coach! I figured hey, if I’m doing it anyway, why not get compensated for my time and effort right?
I can’t tell you how rewarding it is and what a great feeling it is to be able to help people regain their health and watch them make amazing physical transformations with Beachbody programs like P90X and Insanity. The fact that I can actually get paid to do so is just a nice bonus. Many times, all it takes is a couple simple little tips or just a little encouragement to help people get on the path to better health, and when they email you after completing a program like P90X and tell you how grateful they are that you were there for them when perhaps no one else was and you helped them achieve their fitness goals, well that’s just an amazing feeling. That’s what being a Beachbody coach is all about to me.
Another great benefit I’ve gotten from being a coach is that it helps keep me accountable. If I’m going to be helping others get fit and stay fit, I darned well better be walking the walk myself. It has really helped me stay focused, motivated and passionate about my own health and fitness.
But what about you? Why might you consider the option of becoming a Beachbody coach? That depends on you. There are a couple components to Beachbody coaching. Many people use a coach account to save money on the products they buy, knowing full well that they have no interest in coaching others through the program. This actually makes a lot of sense for people who are using Beachbody products and supplements every month. Since a coach account is only $39 for the first month and $14.95 per month after that, you will come out ahead by having a coach account and saving 25% on everything you buy. Even if the only product you buy is Shakeology, you will come out $15 ahead every month … not to mention having the ability to buy products at a discount for your friends and family who are also going through workout programs.
The other component is that you can actually use it as an opportunity to coach others (like I have done). For many of my services, I don’t get paid anything. But when the people I coach do buy Beachbody products, I get a commission from Beachbody as a way to reimburse me for my efforts in helping those people with their programs. You don’t need to be a fitness or nutrition expert, and you don’t need to be fit from day one either. Like I mentioned earlier, you just need to enjoy helping and encouraging others.
