What advice do you have for determining how to choose between the classic and lean?? I certainly wouldn’t mind coming away with some definition, especially in my arms. I’m starting out at 5’8″ and 158lbs, if that matters.

    Thanks!!

  2. Coach Dan says:

Hi Kerry…I pretty much always recommend doing the classic version. If you’re looking for some definition in your arms, classic is the way to go.

  3. mike says:

i play soccer and im a little over weight. All of my extra fat is in my mid section. what workout would fit best for me? im 5’9″ and im 205lbs

    • Coach Dan says:

Hey Mike…if you already have P90X, I would suggest doing the classic version. If you don’t, there’s another Beachbody program that would be a good fit for what you need for soccer…speed, agility, endurance etc… http://insanity.coachdanrecommends.com

I do a P90X/Insanity hybrid workout and Insanity really burns the calories and melts the fat from the mid section. Just click that link above to check it out.

I am 5 foot 5 inches and about 150 pounds. About how much should i try to lose to be pretty fit? Also, i bought p90x but the nutrition is going to be difficult to follow do you have any cheap, easy, quick meal plans for me? thank you.

    • Coach Dan says:

@lauryn – it’s hard to give a number in terms of pounds to lose to be fit. If you do the work outs and eat properly, you’ll see the results you’re looking for. You might lose 10 pounds, you might lose 20 pounds, it’s hard to say. More importantly, you’ll lose inches and body fat %. As for nutrition, if you can’t make the actual meals, you just want to take the approved foods listed in the nutrition guide that you like to eat and make sure you get the proper fat/carb/protein ratio and the right amount of calories.

  5. Mike says:

I did p-90x last year and loved It its been 8 months ago and just recently let myself go.My wife wants to do the x with me,but wants to do the lean program. She Is out of shape should I try to persuade her to do the classic at her speed or try the lean thanks for an awesome fitness program.

    • Coach Dan says:

Hey Mike…P90X lean is basically just a little easier version of P90X classic, less resistance workouts and more cardio…no Plyometrics. I typically recommend classic for just about everybody. If you’re going to do it together, at the same time, it would obviously be easier to be on the same schedule. “Lean” doesn’t mean it will make you more lean or lose more weight than classic which is what a lot of people think. I think women tend to want to do the lean version because they fear they will get too bulky or muscular with classic, which is not the case.

ok so i just got the p90x with the 13 cds, im confused. i didnt get tthe fitness guide and ive been looking everywhere online for help(this has been the best:D) and i didnt get the nutrition guide either. i just started today with the core ?synergetics? Im 5’3″ and 180 lbs. not really fit at all and a lot of weight around the mid section. is this “lean” program the best for me? it was a lil hard. im scared of not getting great results because i couldnt do everything as well as i saw. and would you know where i can get the nutrion guide? thanks a bunch.

    • Coach Dan says:

Sounds like you got a bootleg copy, I hope the DVDs actually work. The nutrition guide isn’t sold separately…it comes as part of the package when you order a legit copy from Beachbody. Since you don’t have the nutrition guide, check out these links for nutrition advice:

      http://www.homefitnessfanatic.com/164/healthy-eating-help
      http://www.homefitnessfanatic.com/88/p90x-sample-diet

I would actually recommend doing the classic version rather than the lean. You’ll get results with either one, but better results with classic in my opinion. Don’t worry about not being able to do everything at first, most people can’t. You’ll get stronger and better with each passing week. You have to really nail the nutrition part though, that’s where most of your results are going to come from.

  8. Kristyn says:

Hi there! I have been getting bored with my Jillian Michaels DVDs and am considering P90X. I am 5’3 and 122 lbs. I am looking for definition in my arms and trimming my waist size without losing tooooo much. I am getting married and my first dress fitting is in two months. Which would you recommend? Lean or classic?

  9. crystal says:

I’m 5’2 and 122lbs, I have p90x and really want to lose about ten pounds before I head out for college next year, which video would yiu recommend? And if I follow the weight watchers plan with it would that be okay?

  10. Roger says:

    Hi,

Im 45 and have never exercised.

I am tall and skinny, 6″ 3 and 175 pounds.

I am never ill and feel no different energy wise now than I did 20 years ago.

I would love to be 190-200 pounds.

Do i want lean or classic or something else?

    any other tips?

    Thank you

    Roger

    • Coach Dan says:

You’ll want to do the classic schedule. Nutrition will also be very important if you want to put on some mass so make sure you follow what the nutrition guide says.

  11. JOANIE says:

I am 45 5’2″ 160lbs. does the classic show you how to modify the exercise if you can not do it all at once.

    • Coach Dan says:

Yes, Tony shows you how to modify the various exercises whether you do the classic schedule or lean schedule.

      • Dee says:

Thank you for answering my question. I have another one, if I am 18 and 140lbs how many calories should I eat a day to lose 30 lbs in 50 days while doing p90x and working out (elliptical and running) an extra hour and a half a day? Thanks

  12. Dee says:

I would like to lose 30 lbs. It would be wonderful to do this by May 31st, which is my graduation. I have ordered p90x and should receive it by April 9th. Is it possible to lose that much in about 50 days, by doing p90x, following the nutrition plan, and also incorporating a second workout like running?

  13. Jasmine says:

Hi, I was wondering about which P90X workout I should use. Lean or classic? I’d like to lose 40 lbs. but I want tone but not too much since I’m a girl and all. And will this workout improve my endurance?

    • Daniel says:

Hi Jasmine…you’ll get good results with either classic or lean, but I personally always recommend the classic schedule. Either way, nutrition will play the biggest part in reaching your goals so don’t neglect that part of the equation! Will P90X improve your endurance? Absolutely!
